Sunday 15th October

I have managed to successfully burn a hole in my favourite dress today because I got an amazing message from a friend and forgot that ironing needs skills. Note to self, buy more clothes that don't need ironing. Apple have updated their iOS system with a disable phone when driving feature - sending an email to Zuckie requesting the same for ironing. Hope he responds.

MASSIVE NEWS for the wedding in January, remember the one I had to trump the venue they had their heart set on. Well I managed to get them a more suitable venue, at a fraction of the cost so Wedding Planner Win!

Monday 16th October

Three letters sum up today. VAT.

I won't bore you with more. Just know this. It hurt my head.

Tuesday 17th October

I am not entirely sure 1200 colour samples from a Hardware stores paint section is what they accept as being 'free'. Having been approached by several staff members to ask if I was okay that may have been a hint I chose to ignore! I NEED the samples for clients! It is imperative for me to be on the same page as you?! There are a billion different pinks and greys and blues so I need to understand the hue we are all working towards so everything is aligned.

We are now in fully fledged planning for the Christina Noble Children's Foundation dinner in November and I am styling the masquerade inspired tables. Lots of feathers and deep red roses. I adore this get together for a beautiful charity. This evening we tasted the food for the event and I am still dreaming about the risotto. ROLL ON NOVEMBER!

Wednesday 18th October

I met with the lovely Janine from Twenty 5 Zero 5 today for a visit to Boston Lane in The Courtyard, Al Quoz. What a delightful find. Their toasties and sandwiches and pastries are to die for. She has brought out the most divine personalised Sunhat and I am IN LOVE. I will be wearing mine for the rest of eternity and I can't wait! I have also had another one made for a lucky future wife! We will be giving away this amazing hat as well as a beach-ready bag with tons of goodies, now the weather has cooled down over here, it's time to get back in the pool with My Dubai Wedding tools (really should have been a poet).

The remainder of today has been spent with two of the best designer brains in the industry planning for our event in December. We were covered in double sided tape and ideas for hours. Cannot wait until the big reveal mainly because I am terrible at keeping secrets.

Thursday 19th October

Hooray - a day of no meetings so its mood boarding, scheduling in Vlogs for the end of the month and preparing for 5 weddings, 2 potential weddings, a proposal, a charity event, two styled shoots and the December event. WHEN. WILL. I. BREATHE???!!! When you love what you do, you'll never work another day in your life. So here's to 18 hours a day of not working!

Friday 20th October

We really are a blessed group of wedding professionals! Bernie & Bindi Photography, Nikki from Weddings Online, Teemu and Melissa from The Party, James from Upscale & Posh Flowers and I were invited to the pre-launch of the new British Brunch at Caravan, The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai to sample their new menu (hard life indeed). Well if that's a soft launch you are all in for a treat and a half. What is also amazing... We are in fully fledged wedding season and we could all make it together... YAY! Even though we are all friends, we ended up having a delicious brainstorm together which is extremely funny 4 drinks in! A delightful afternoon with incredible friends. Thank you Ritz!

Saturday 21st October

Early morning potential client meetings are the best way to start a Saturday. A beautiful couple from London looking for a British Wedding Planner in Dubai... Erm.... HIYA! I guess that box is ticked off then. Venue hunting tomorrow and hopefully getting a little closer to locking in a date for their nuptials this time next year.

I worked up a lovely appetite to see Maria from Cara PR for breakfast. Maria has come over to Dubai to see her clients, journalists and media folk (me included) to have an intense catch up with the glitterati (and me!) before heading back to tepid Scotland.  I can always be won over when I am gifted Shortbread - I just need to hide it from Hubby who will demolish the lot before I get a look in. Maria represents amazing organisations like Rebecca Treston; Skin specialist at Euromed Clinic Center as well as the adorable Dr Sofia - resident Dentist and Implantologist also at Euromed.

Rebecca reminds me of home. A no nonsense but brilliantly warm lady. Someone I can trust with my money-maker as she is a top dermatologist with more experience than most in her position. I don't want injections (and would like my face to move when I am expressing myself) so she has suggested a facial to rejuvenate my skin. I will report on Tuesday...

Sofia is just the most wonderful ball of energy and I can tell she genuinely cares about her clients and will not stop until the client is happy. A blessing in the region. They are both going to be giving me a little help! I am seeing Rebecca on Tuesday for a facial - yippee! I am going to (hopefully) look less tired than I normally do!

See you next week, Tania x
